DESCRIPTION
Frito-Lay brand Walkers Crisps converted London bus shelters into vending machines that gave passersby a free bag of chips in exchange for sending out tweets. In a UK first for out-of-home advertising, three Twitter-activated digital vending machines were placed at bus shelters in Oxford Street and Clapham Junction.
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
The software on the booth was written in ActionScript and deployed as an AIR application. It used sockets to communicate with the embedded vending machine software and displayed videos based on the various states of the vending machine.
