DESCRIPTION

Diesel approached Acne to deliver some social media work on Facebook. In response to this, Acne delivered a creative solution far beyond that required. Instead of focusing only on Facebook, it was decided to develop a User Generated Content device that would have a much more impactful and longer reach. The Diesel Gif Booth was born, first launching at Diesel Frankfurt's flagship store opening, together with a window installation that really wowed the audience. The Diesel Gif Booth ended up being tremendously successful for Diesel, as it travelled in Germany, London and France over the course of a year.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

The booth software was developed using VVVV. All images were uploaded to a Tumblr blog via the Tumblr API. For the window installation, Raspberry Pis were used that communicated with the primary machine over the network. Each Raspberry Pi provided a screen with a slideshow of branded content and animated GIFs produced in the booth. All Raspberry Pis as well as the booth had remoting software installed for monitoring and maintenance.
