DESCRIPTION

My time at Pixel Project involved a lot of experimentation with technology, and this led to plenty of Kinect work, as it was quite current at the time. During my experiments, I started playing with different ways to represent the voxels captured from the device and out of this was born the so-called Pixelator. We developed it into a full-featured project, controllable via an OSC mobile app and ran it at some events.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

The installation app was built using Processing. For control of the installation, the keyboard could be used in realtime to randomise the visuals as well as toggle specific features. A mobile app was created to communicate with the installation via OSC for remote control. The installation was audio-reactive and various aspects of the visuals were affected by sound input.
